En 2007, au CHU de Brest, de nombreux cas d'atteintes cardiaques inexpliquées attirent l'attention de la pneumologue Irène Frachon. Ses recherches mettent en cause le Mediator, coupe-faim des laboratoires Servier, dont le principe actif avait conduit au retrait de l'Isoméride en 1997. Celui du Mediator sera effectif en 2009. Depuis, elle poursuit son combat pour l'indemnisation des milliers de victimes..
